The Weimar Matador takes up Hannes Meyer's statement "Community governs the individual" and locates it playfully in public space. Stiftung Freizeit, together with the Bauhaus Agents and their partner schools, designed a modular wooden construction entitled the Weimar Matador. A new whole only emerges through joint assembly of the individual parts. The public action of construction offered the opportunity to become part of a dynamic community. The Weimar Matador is one of several current voices responding to the abovementioned quotation from Hannes Meyer, which can be seen in the "Hannes Meyer Room" in the Bauhaus-Museum Weimar, curated by the Bauhaus Agents. At the opening festival in Berlin for the Bauhaus anniversary in January 2019, the project was also represented in the form of a video.
