"Hannes Meyer, the new World, and Us"
"Simultaneity of all occurrences", "sense of speed", "designing the new world … in a new way" – in his article "The New World" dating from 1926, Hannes Meyer reflects on his personal ideas about the present and the future. Key themes were borders, the design of the environment, mobility, creation of community, and also new technological developments. Taking a more careful look, many of his ideas are still extremely relevant today. Or are they? Listen to what others think and say about them! There was an opportunity for this in January, during the opening festival of the major Bauhaus anniversary celebrations.
