Bauhaus Detectives
Exploring an architectural Icon
How do children perceive a world-famous architectural icon? As Bauhaus detectives, schoolchildren from all classes at Ziebigk Elementary School developed a rally through the Bauhaus building.

In teams of experts, children from Ziebigk Elementary School investigated and considered a tour for school pupils according to self-selected questions. The children's suggestions were the basis for a re-conception of a hand-on tour for children, whereby they solve assignments independently at several stages in the Bauhaus Building. Test runs with different age groups at the school provided information about any need for changes to the tour's fine planning. Now, the children explore, in teams competing with one another, various points in the famous Bauhaus Building. Activity sheets with action-oriented research assignments invite them to try things out, deliberate, and solve puzzles. Since January 2019 the tour has been part of the regular outreach programme of the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation.
