[Translate to English:] Text

On the various floors of the Dessau Studio Building, six actors from the Bauhaus stage pose in masks and costumes. Instead of acting in an unforced and free manner, they follow a strict choreography that emphasises verticals and diagonals. This allows the actors to appear almost as architectural elements. The theme of the photograph, which Oskar Schlemmer painted in places with black ink, is the depiction of people in space – in terms of spatial conquest and providing a sense of scale.
