Annette Krebs studied music focussing on concert guitar at the University for Music and Performing Arts Frankfurt am Main, graduated in 1992 with her diploma and has lived in Berlin since 1993. Here she developed both as an instrumentalist and composer and her own music style in various close collaborations (among others with members of the current “Phosphor” and “Telefon” ensembles). Her style is based on elements and inspirations from contemporary, improvised and classical music and contemporary visual art. Similar to the approach to painting, using different techniques she elaborated her own, special sound and noise material, which she mostly performs herself as a soloist or as part of intensive, non-hierarchical collaborations. She has also played numerous improvisation concerts with musicians from Europe and beyond.
