Siedhoff-Buscher met Walter Gropius' demands for a product that was attractive and could also be manufactured industrially with this building set. She succeeded in developing a toy suitable for children that offered both the possibility of imitation and free creative development. The 22 components of the "Small Ship-Building Game" were kept in cheerful colours – the Bauhaus colours of red, yellow and blues are complemented by green and white. When arranged as a solid puzzle, the components form a completely closed rectangular block equivalent to the packaging carton. The "Small Ship-Building Game" is still produced today.
