bau1haus – Modernity in the World
Modernity begins after 1918. People's wishes for light, air, home and sanitary comfort, new materials such as concrete, steel and glass, and new aesthetic principles such as "form follows function" and "organic buildings" lead to a "New Style," which broke the reiteration of meaningless historical buildings. These often indefinable currents blossomed between the two world wars.
The Berlin-based photographer Jean Molitor is on a photo search for "modern buildings" in Germany, Russia, Spain, USA, Cuba, the Middle East, Africa and Asia, among others. The exhibition "bau1haus" will ensure that the preservation of these irretrievable structures will also maintain the aesthetic of the time and movement.
