Who knows Paul Klee the artist? We’ve made a Paul Klee puppet, just as he once made a puppet for his son. It will travel from Munich to Berlin in our magic box. Paul Klee lived in Munich before he became a professor and teacher at the Bauhaus. The Bauhaus was an art school, founded one hundred years ago. Paul Klee taught at it and became a world-famous painter. The moon features very frequently in his pictures. It invites you to play like a ball does. Because it is dark, when the moon shines light and colours become a lantern festival. Paul Klee doesn’t just tell us about this. Colourful fabrics and light are played with, noises are invented and every child that joins in gets their own lantern to design.
Design and production: Art mediation of Munich’s picture galleries as commissioned by the festival
Performed by: Pia Brüner M.A. (freelance art mediator), Jochen Meister M.A. (Art Mediation Manager at the Bayerische Staatsgemäldesammlungen)
