THE ROLE OF CRAFTSMANSHIP AND INDUSTRIAL CULTURE AT THE BAUHAUS, UP TO TODAY´S APPRECIATION IN MANUFACTURING
At the beginning of the 20th century, classical modernism, with its stylistic idiom, revolutionized the appearance of buildings and their facilities. The avant-garde was the Bauhaus, which wanted to change not only the aesthetics but also society. Nowhere was the relationship between art, arts and crafts, industrial production and craft so radically discussed as at the Bauhaus. And nowhere else did the economic and political camps of the Weimar Republic, which existed behind these domains, clash as offensively as at the Bauhaus. They influenced the fate of craft to industrialization to the present day.
Today craftsmanship, its guild and appreciation have become the subject of craftsmanship alongside the architecture of the Classical Modernism. The exhibition in the ZustandsZone introduces the role of craftsmanship and industrial culture at the Bauhaus and makes reference to today's craftsmanship examples of selected everyday objects from the perspective of manufactory companies such as tailoring, decoration painting and chair design.
